Phuket Continues to Entertain with Affordable Luxury

Popular throughout Southeast Asia and beyond, Phuket Beach attracts a large variety of international travelers. Located on the west coast of Thailand on the Andaman Sea, the cost of living here is very low compared to other international beach resort cities. Thailand opened up to western influence many decades ago, therefore gaining wide popularity among westerners. There are plenty of massage shops, spas, malls, hospitals, and markets and other amenities and facilities available around Phuket. Bicycle rentals are available to explore the hillsides or the jungles. The area is spread out and not congested, creating a loose and mildly exciting environment. Sports activities such as football and volleyball can be found at various parks or beach areas. There is also a stadium for rugby, football, and jogging at the southern end of the west side of Phuket.

There are plenty of popular local things to do on Phuket Island itself.  There are canoeing trips available to explore caves and coastlines around the island. The Phuket Fantasea Show, Simon Cabaret, Promthep Cape Restaurant are other popular places to go. There is also a shrine to Brahma surrounded by thousands of wooden elephants known as the Elephant Shrine. Monkey Hill is a favorite place for locals and travelers to visit. Travelers can get there from Toe Sae Road which leads up to Toe Sae Hill that everyone calls Monkey Hill.

Two of the best waterfalls on Phuket are Ton Sai and Bang Pae, they are part of The Khao Praew Thaew National Park.Temperatures range from an average of 24ºC to 32ºC. November to March is the high season with less rain and humidity. Low season is May through September when It rains a lot and gets very humid. Songkran is the very popular week-long water festival every mid-April. Make sure to book a room in advance during this time, as thousands of people come here to celebrate.
