The usual street fight 1 vs 1. How well would a person trained in Muay Thai do against a street fighter?.

I’d say they’d do really well. Its not just the style and the knowledge folks. Its the physical tests these guys endure in training that put them above any bum off the streets.
A lot of fighters in full contact combat sports have taken the worse hits and the worse beatings from others. They know how to endure and fight through pain. I wouldn’t say that for 95% of the random thug from the streets.

I’d say, they are in their territory and could easily beat the street thug, but if the thug has a knife it would be a different matter. The best action here is to run away and fight another day.
They would proabaly tie
They would do well enough with their fists, elbows, and maybe their knees, but Muay Thai kicks are extremely telegraphic and would have very little use in a street fight. They would do better than the average Joe but wouldn’t do as well as a boxer.
All depends on the skill and talent level of the opponents in question. What exactly is a street fighter anyways, some one who will do anything? I would always favor the guy who is well conditioned and has experience in any style over some body who does not train.
A street fighter is someone who hasn’t learn how to fight well. Some may have some strength and speed, but usually no conditioning or defense. 90% of the time a trained fighter, in almost any fight discipline, will beat a street fighter.
NOT FAR AT ALL…ITS A STREET FIGHT SO ANYTHING GOES INCLUDING WEAPONS
Street fights usually don’t have rules. However, if a Muay Thai fighter were in a street fight and, somehow, the fight was just a One no One against another person, especially if the opponent was near the same size, the Muay Thai fighter would have an excellent chance to win.
There’s an old unwritten rule in street fighting. “He who hits first hits last”. The Muay Thai fighter would likely either get off the first shot, and end the fight quickly or survive being hit first and come back and defeat his adversary.
The streetfighter would have to be very formidable in order to beat the Muay Thai fighter. It could be done but it’s not likely for an “average” street fighter to beat a well trained Muay Thai fighter.
Muay Thai is a lethal fighting style, but it would be hard to stick to the rules in a 1 on 1 street fight because half the fights i know go to ground anyway. I think if the muay thai fighter fought dirty he would win.
